Technical Summary
The customer brought in a CLA AMG 45 for a log book service and wanting more power. Step Up's qualified and skilled technicians went to work on the modern masterpiece — first sorting the service side, then moving the car onto the performance side of the shop for a staged set of bolt-on upgrades and a Stage 2 tune. Reliability was the priority throughout, keeping the car warranty-friendly while unlocking the extra power.
The Build Process
Phase 01: Log Book Service
Full log book service undertaken and all minor problems ironed out — great value servicing for a high-end vehicle, with a FREE injector clean carried out as a bonus.
Phase 02: Exhaust
An upgraded exhaust with a high-flow catalytic converter was fitted for an amazing note on downshifts, through the gears and at idle. The oval-shaped intermediate pipe was also replaced.
Phase 03: Turbo & Intake
A turbo dump pipe upgrade was carried out to improve boost through the turbo and add power safely. A high-flow air filter was fitted to feed the extra air the turbo now demands.
Phase 04: Stage 2 Tune
The engine ECU was removed so the Stage 2 tune could be installed — tying all the hardware together while keeping reliability front and centre for the customer.
