A customer brought in their EVO 8 GSR with an abundance of problems — one being a tune issue preventing it from running to full potential, and also losing coolant in the process. We took a systematic approach to diagnose and resolve every underlying mechanical hurdle to bring this JDM icon back to peak performance.
DIAGNOSED
Head lifted under boost, causing significant coolant loss and internal damage to the head gasket.
PROCESS
Gasket change, full head service, ARP head studs, timing belt, full 100k service, all fluids, and ACD/AYC system flush.
AFTERMARKET
Installation of high-flow stainless exhaust manifold and a complete intercooler kit with high-temp silicone pipes.
OVERVIEW
Responsive tune resulting in 220+kW. "Little yet feisty beast corners like it's on rails."
